If you passed your motorcycle test a good few years ago, congratulations. Getting a licence today is a much more involved process. New riders go through multiple stages to get their full licence, with the steps spread out over time so they accumulate real experience.
If you passed your motorcycle test years ago, you’re legally entitled to ride. But if you’ve been off motorcycles for a while, it’s best to ease yourself back in gently. A lot has changed, perhaps including yourself. It’s definitely worth familiarising yourself with the official Road Code for Motorcyclists.
The best thing may be to do some training. And why not? It’s fun, you get a real sense of achievement and you’ll probably even pick up new skills as well as refreshing old ones.
If you used to ride around as a learner but didn’t get your full licence, you still need to get a learner licence.
