Harley-Davidson is tempting the learner rider market with a new low-powered bike that meets strict regulations for novice riders.
The bike, to go on sale in Australia in 2015 and expected to be priced from as little as $10,000, is designed to come in under the 650cc limit for learners and meet the power-to-weight ratio restrictions.
Under the Australian Learner Approved Motorcycle (LAM) scheme, which allows novice riders to ride moderately powered motorcycles, the only Harley-Davidson that can legally be ridden in Australia by learners is an SS350 Sprint produced between 1969 and 1974.
