In 1903, George Wyman became the first person to make a coast-to-coast journey across America by motor vehicle, aboard a 1902 ‘Regular Model’ motorised cycle from the California Motor Co. (The first crossing by car wasn't until later the same year, in the comparative luxury of a contemporary Winton Touring Car, long displayed at the Smithsonian.)

The machine’s reappearance has cased delight for members of the George A. Wyman Memorial Project, who describe it as the antique motorcycle find of the century.
